Punta de Aqua
Jose Alderete fondly recollects memories about Punta de Agua his hometown. “These are my recollections from about 1940 to 1951 of the village of Punta de Agua, which is located near the towns of Estancia, Mountainair and Manzano. Most of the people in Punta, as it was called, were related either by blood or marriage. If by chance you were not related, you were still compadres.
During the time he lived there, there was only one phone in Punta. It was a lot like Mayberry and the Andy Griffin show but it was a crank phone and you had to go through the operator.
