Curio Cowboys
The Curio Cowboys have been playing preservationist Western Swing music for decades in Albuquerque. They perform the dance music that was popular in the Southwest from the 1930's to the 1950's, combining elements of Blues, Jazz, frontier fiddle music, Mexican and Tin Pan Alley music, as played on radio, records and in dancehalls, by small combos and big bands that could out-perform and out-draw conventional Swing units.
Recordings by the Curio Cowboys have been featured on radio shows from Connecticut to California, and the band has twice been recipient of Best Instrumental Performance by the New Mexico Music Awards.
