This program focuses on Grizzly Bear hunter Montague Stevens and New Mexico’s last Grizzly Bear hunter. Montague Stevens, a one-armed Englishman and Catron County rancher, was one of the first and the last to actively hunt grizzly bears in New Mexico. He embraced life on the American Frontier and befriended western artist Frederick Remington, chased Apache with Indian fighter General George Crook and corresponded with Teddy Roosevelt.
