
Bud Warner is a native of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He began his long involvement with music while in the navy, where he met and started Jammin’ with keyboardist Les McCann. After four years of military service, they both enrolled at Westlake College of Music in Los Angeles.
While a student, Bud played bass in Ben Pollack’s Band on Sunset Strip, and after graduating he joined the Standouts, a vocal Quartet that toured the country. His vocal abilities were discovered during this stint with the Standouts and he had more of a presence in the group. He later joined or started many vocal groups, singing and playing musical instrument accompaniment.
Bud also played Piano Bars, regularly playing, stump the Piano man, and was rarely stumped. Pre-Pandemic Bud played many elderly care centers in Albuquerque, and when the shutdown of these facilities occurred due to Covid-19, he decided to retire. He has been involved in the music business all his life, a true working musician. Bud now resides in Albuquerque with his wife Toni and step son Paul.
