Q: Why does KXNM need a Community Advisory Committee?
A: Not only is it a requirement of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, but KXNM recognizes the importance of obtaining constructive feedback on a consistent basis from the people we serve.
Q: What does the Community Advisory Committee do?
A: The role of the Community Advisory Committee is to provide feedback on programming, policies, new initiatives, public service and the specialized educational, informational and cultural needs of the communities served by the station
Q: What kind of commitment will members of the Community Advisory Committee be agreeing to?
A: The advisory committee will meet regularly (at least quarterly) at the KXNM studios in Macintosh. The meetings will last about two hours.
Q: What will happen at Community Advisory Board meetings?
A: The advisory committee will discuss a particular topic or issue during the meeting. This could include programming, new initiatives, public service or fund raising. Sometimes, committee members will be asked to do some homework before the meeting based on that topic or issue. For example, if we are developing a new show, committee members might be asked to listen to pilot segments and provide feedback.
